New Work Table |
A few months ago, a neighbor asked if Hubster or I could use a workbench. He had built it at their old house, but now, in their new house down the road, it didn't quite fit in the garage. I jumped on the opportunity, as I have been searching for a table for the studio for a while.
The workbench was quite tall, so Hubster cut the legs down to make it a more appropriate counter height. It languished in the studio for a while, and I realized that the 2.5 foot wide bench top was a little too narrow for cutting fabric. A 4x8 sheet of high quality plywood came home with us from Mendards and the table top project began!
Hubster used the router to round the corners of the plywood. We hauled it into the studio and Hubster screwed it down on the bench. I sanded the sheet smooth, wiped it down, and put two coats of Shellac on it. Once dry, I sanded it down again and put another coat of Shellac on it.
And now...
It's time to sew!!!
I am totally thrilled to have this project done so I can use my awesome table to create other cool things :-)
Cheers,
R-Lib
