About The Ranch Librarian

Welcome to the Ranch!

My name is Jill. I live in the middle of Wyoming (literally) and I love it. My husband, Jon, and I own a little ranch called The Sage Creek Farm and Ranch. It's stocked with horses, cows, dogs, cats, chickens, and we are hoping to add a few little goats soon too!

As a life-long horse girl, marrying Hubs and settling onto the ranch was a dream come true. I have lots of room to ride, and even lots of room to train for Horse Trials, which I am super excited about! My spunky black gelding, Jet, and I are learning all about what it takes to compete in Dressage, Cross Country, and Show Jumping right in a row.

I'm a teacher-librarian, Hubs is a welder/machinist/mechanic, and we love our little corner of the world. We grow grass hay, alfalfa, random fruit trees, a vegetable garden, flowers, and lots of sage brush on our property.

We just recently welcomed our son, Huxton, to the ranch after several difficult years spent dealing with fertility issues. I have a condition called Endometriosis that often causes difficulty in getting pregnant. But after lots of prayers and struggles, we were able to get pregnant in the summer of 2017, which is such a blessing after a loss we suffered in April of 2016, when we became parents to Asa Raye--a sweet baby that we never had the chance to hold in our arms.

Huxton is the answer to our hope and prayers for a family to raise on the ranch. We are loving our new life as a family of three, and each day learning a little more about what it means to walk in faith with the Lord.

As you might have guessed, I love books, so I am all about reading them and writing them and telling anyone who will listen about how great books can change your life. I manage a K-12 library program at a public school, cultivate a happy little library at the ranch, and write historical fiction for fun. I also teach Senior English, and just finished my Master's degree in English in May 2017.

I love ranch life because I get to spend time doing things I love: cooking, writing, reading, sewing, playing, and working on projects.
