Cold Weather Creation

Since school was delayed on Monday, I had an extra bit of time in the morning. There was any number of things I could have (or should have) done, but since it was snowing and cold outside, and the time was free, I did a project:

I made boot cuffs from an old sweater, which is something I've been wanting to try for a while.

I realize that this isn't the best picture in the entire world (it's harder to take a selfie of your boots while wearing them than you might think!!), I thought they turned out pretty cute.

And, they were super easy. All I needed to get them made was an old sweater, a pair of scissors, a needle, embroidery thread, and a collection of buttons.

Since the sweater had turned over cuffs already, I simply took the sleeves off the body of the sweater, cut the sleeve a little further down than even with the cuff itself, and put a simply blanket stitch on the cut, unfinished edge. Then I placed the buttons where I wanted them and sewed them on.

As my Hubster would say, "Bob's your uncle."

They were so easy!!!

I have to admit, I've tried several Pinterest projects in my life, and several of them have been Pinterest fails. But this one worked out well.
